Kenya: Sightseeing in Kenya

In Nairobi, there's the National Museum, Snake Museum and National Archives and the country's most accessible natural park, Nairobi National Park. Try not to wander around at night, however -muggings are frequently Mombasa's old quarter; the most prominent attraction is Fort Jesus. And a string of great beaches dominates the coast just south and north of the town. A couple of hours spent in the waterfront Lamu Museum is an excellent introduction to the town's culture and history. The Marsabit National Park and Reserve is home to Kenya's larger mammals. Camp at Lake Paradise. This crater lake is aptly named and few places in Kenya can rival it for scenery and tranquility The Aberdare National Park offers a variety of fauna, flora and scenery which you won't find elsewhere except, perhaps, on Mt Kenya. There are also the dramatic Gura Falls, alpine moorland, and the slim chance of seeing a black leopard, elephant, rhino or bongo (a rare spiral-horned antelope).
